German Premiere kabinet k (BE)

Horses //

A dance piece for the entire family
Five children between 9 and 14 years old and five grown-ups are together on stage. They observe each other. They mistrust each other. They begin to dance. They lift and hold each other, they support each other, they let themselves fall and catch each other again. Like a herd of young horses - full of untamed energy, full of power and at the same time vulnerability.

«Horses», the latest project by the Belgian artists collective kabinet k from Ghent, tells in impressive pictures of the wish to grow up and to remain child, of power and mutual dependence, of confrontation and devotion, of rejection and the longing to be integrated and above all - of confidence.

Since 2002, choreographer Joke Laureyns and dancer, choreographer and stage designer Kwint Manshoven, referred to as kabinet k, have developed dance and theater pieces in which several generations act together on stage. Their artistic approach is not based on the idea of the vulnerable and guided but the confident child.
