The Taming of the Shrew //

Ballet in two Acts by John Cranko based on the play by William Shakespeare

World Premiere on the 16.03.1969

John Cranko’s masterful ballet adaptation of William Shakespeare’s comedy premiered for the first time at the Stuttgart Ballet in 1969. Today, it is impossible to imagine the ballet repertoire without the »Taming of the Shrew«. With body-related humour and ironic undertones, this ballet comedy tells the story of the world-famous English classic. Like Cranko’s other full-length ballet productions »Romeo and Juliet« and »Onegin«, this work is now included in repertories of numerous dance companies around the world.
