With the TanzWert TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund project, Tanztheater Erfurt, DNT Weimar and Theater Erfurt are establishing a stable network between a free dance company and two structurally firmly anchored institutions for the first time in Thuringia. The cooperation, initially planned to last three years, is co-financed by the Free State of Thuringia and supported by the TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund fund as one of eight selected projects funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. It makes it possible to realize three dance productions of different formats under optimal production conditions. These are supplemented by an innovative mediation offer for the audience. TanzWert will start at the DNT Weimar in the coming 2018/19 season with the production "Reprise" by Ester Ambrosino: a dance exploration of the Weimar Republic and the effects of its failure, which will be produced for the studio stage as a contribution to the "Week of Democracy" at the beginning of February 2019. At the opening of the 2019/20 season, the premiere of the production "face me - sacre" will follow in the DNT's Great House. In this work, Ester Ambrosino combines Stravinsky's "Le sacre du printemps" with a contemporary view of the frightening and frighteningly topical phenomenon of ritual self-sacrifice. The production will be realized with a large orchestra and shown both in Weimar and Erfurt. The Staatskapelle Weimar will perform at the DNT and the Philharmonic Orchestra Erfurt at the Theater Erfurt.
