»Sound loved«

Maurice Ravel Sonatine en Trio for flute, viola and harp (arr. Carlos Salzedo)
Eric Satie 1ère Gnossienne for viola and harp
Jean Cras Suite en duo for flute and harp
Maurice Ravel "Pavane pour une infante defunte" for viola and harp
Claude Debussy Sonata for flute, viola and harp

The combination of flute, viola and harp, which was also chosen by some of the traditionally particularly sound-loving French composers for their own works, is exceptionally charming and subtle. In his trio, Debussy draws on baroque dance forms, but at the same time also paints filigree pictures of nature. Impressionist refinement is found, albeit more vital, in Ravel, and Jean Cras - a contemporary of the two - also fascinates with dazzling colorfulness in his duo for flute and harp.
