Hansel and Gretel – On tour

Engelbert Humperdinck

Over 125 years ago Hansel and Gretel lost their way in Engelbert Humperdinck’s musical world, and ever since they have been regularly battling hunger, fear and a child-eating witch on stage. No musical play is so closely associated to Weimar. And hardly anyone can resist singing along when Gretel urges Hansel, »Little brother, dance with me« or when she recites the sandman’s riddle in the forest. In order to give every resident of Weimar the chance to enjoy this masterpiece once a year, we are developing a mobile performance of »Hansel and Gretel« for presentation at facilities and institutions where residents are not easily able to attend the theatre.

Performances can be booked through our Visitor Service depending on capacity by phone at +49 3643 755-334 or email at: service@nationaltheater-weimar.de
