Fidele Kontraste

Chamber concert of the Staatskapelle Weimar

Michael Haydn Divertimento C-Dur, MH179
Albert Roussel Trio op. 40
Johann Baptist Vanhal Divertimento G-Dur
Erwin Schulhoff Concertino für Flöte, Viola und Kontrabass

The title of this concert is in many respects programmatic, as instrumental timbres meet here in an unusually colorful combination. Light classical entertainment and maximum musical depth, rhythmic vitality and downright fairground exuberance are contrasted. With music from the Viennese Classical period (Michael Haydn) to the French Neo-Classical period (Albert Roussel) to the cheeky 1920s (Erwin Schulhoff), a lively musical mood is guaranteed to have the last word!

With Mareike Friedel (flute & piccolo), Jakob Tuchscheerer (viola) and Michael Kogan (double bass)
