»The romantic trumpet«

Vincent d'Indy Suite dans le style ancien, op. 24 for trumpet,
2 flutes, 2 violins, viola, violoncello and double bass
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart / Josef Kail Romance for trumpet and piano
Gustav Mahler »Blumine« arr. for trumpet and piano
Camille Saint-Saëns Septet in E flat major op. 65 for trumpet, 2 violins, viola, violoncello, double bass and piano

With the development of valve technology and the emancipation from the natural tone series, the trumpet has evolved from a signal instrument to a veritable singer since the classical period. This is demonstrated, for example, by the Septet op. 65 for trumpet, strings and piano by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns, which contains many an ironic facet in the manner of a »carnival of styles«. Music by d'Indy and Mozart as well as Mahler's enchanting »Blumine« complete the program.

with Rupprecht J. Drees (trumpet), Mareike Friedel (flute), N.N. (flute) Michael Kogan (contrabass), Ludmilla Kogan (piano) and the Amalia Quartett: Barbara Seifert (violin), Astrid Schütte (violin), Almut Bormann (viola), Astrid Müller (cello)
