2023–1923

Just in time for the beginning of the new year, many historians are dealing with the year 1923, when the first German republic founded in Weimar was just five years old and exposed to the deep shocks of inflation and an attempted coup d'état initiated by Adolf Hitler. Remembering this turbulent time, describing differences and yet not overlooking parallels, seems of great importance. Together with the Weimar Republic Association, which is also celebrating its tenth anniversary on this day, we invite you to join us in the foyer for a discussion about history and the present. We are expecting Dr. Volker Ullrich, whose recently published book »Deutschland 1923« goes right to the heart of these disputes, to be our discussion partner.
