»Peter and the Wolf«

A ballet piece based on the music of Sergei Prokofiev

That the soft clarinet sound is made to imitate the smooth movements of the cat, that the oboe can quack like a duck and the flute chirp like a bird - all this is known to every child! But perhaps it has something to do with rhythm and melody that the clumsy duck is hopelessly inferior to the cleverly lurking cat and that the mighty wolf can only make a fool of himself chasing the cheeky bird? Peter, at any rate, is totally cool right from the start. There's no question that he's got things under control - but why do we actually know that so well?

Together with the instruments of the orchestra, the story of Peter and the Wolf is told by the children of the Titus Ballet School, who dance in the roles of Peter, the little bird, the duck, the cat, the wolf and the grandfather, but who also play the trees, the sunbeams and other animals of the forest.

Joint production with the ensemble of the Titus Ballet School, Weimar
